This trap is WAY over do for service. The generally accepted rule is that a trap must be emptied when the grease level reaches 1/4 of the traps depth. This trap was 100% grease, which renders it useless allowing all grease, fats and oils to escape into the facility pipes as well as the sewer system or municipality system.

This picture shows the results from a bad install! The drain pipes from soft serve ice cream machines and coffee drain boards were allowed to empty into a floor drain that was not attached to a grease trap, in addition, the drain was behind a wall! The drain pipes eventually filled with waste and backed up behind the counter.

This shows a grease trap installed in the floor with a riser. The trap bottom is 3 feet below what looks like the bottom. The facility only serviced the trap when there was an overflow. The riser should be clear of grease, but because of neglect the grease collected on the riser when it overflowed.

Picture shows a brilliant install located directly under a dishwasher. Because of the placement the grids cannot be removed for service and the dishwasher must be lifted to get the trap lid off.

This grease trap design makes cleaning difficult due to the shroud attached to the lid. A real design disaster of a semi automatic grease trap that doesn’t work, and never would as installed!

This trap requires an insert to be removed for cleaning. It makes a real mess of the surrounding area when servicing. Another design disaster!

A grease trap in a seafood specialty facility. The inlet behind the grid is full of sand from shellfish cleaning forcing the incoming water to flow over, rather than under the grid as it is designed to do.
